Attributes

 Building Energy Certification is a separate element of general assessment of a building. The objective is to determine the energy related status of a building, then compare the collected and calculated data with standard values, and lastly rating the building on a scale from “A” to “I”.

By means of the building energy certification we can get an overall picture of a building’s technical status and features, including the annual energy consumption data and profile. The certification can highlight the weak points of energy consumption characteristics, thus helping to discover what developments can lead to energy savings and a building that is operated more efficiently. Moreover, you may need an energy certification for statutory or other tenders to create the start of and the expectable end point of a project, making it easily understandable and to underpin what improvement can be targeted by using the tender funds.

A building audit is also based on the energy certification, which includes an in-depth analysis of consumption profiles, possible saving opportunities, and detailed recommendations for their realization.

In case it is necessary, it can be supplemented with presentation of available funding sources in alignment to customer requirement and capability.

 What’s the benefit?

The completed documentation presents the energy rating of the building, the actual energy consumption profile and its details, and possible alternatives for efficiency improvements including estimations for return times.

 Process

 1. Meeting and negotiation with client, person in charge of facility management, data collection, understanding and clarification of client requirements. Determining operational aspects (internal temperature, heating, cooling features, development needs, tendering-funding aspects) and collection of building technical documentation (blueprints, internal regulation, databases, etc).
2. Technical inspection – matching blueprints to reality, fixing places and equipment relevant for possible wastage, preparation of analytical statement.
3. Technical calculations with WinWatt system, recommendations for improvements.
4. Actual cost reports based on energy bills, filtering habits-to-change.
5. Appraisal of renewing energy potential.
6. Completion of investment proposal packages, recommendations, and alternatives including the cost-funding needs and the estimated return times of the respective opportunities.

Outcome

By conducting a full circle assessment of your building (architectural, technological, operational), we can determine the optimal development alternatives for improving energy efficiency.

Upon completion of the analysis, we make firm recommendations on: how to improve energy consciousness; we raise your attention to any heat-technological issues; and we present how overall energy consumption and energy rating can be improved. We hand over the complete energy certification documentation – including one colored summary and the background calculations, which can serve as a starting point for possible future investment plans.

As a result of the analysis we prepare a proposal package, including:
• A study on the comprehensive energy status of the building;
• Recommended developments regarding any possible cost savings, renovations, overhauling, and detailed implementation plans;
• A short summary on cost saving opportunities;
• Ranking of developments, with a spreadsheet including anticipated cost of investment/operation, estimated return times;
• Developments where tender funds can be used are highlighted.

Due to the developments proposed, you can significantly increase the value of your property.
